HAPPENINGS

Alert  If you haven't done so already, consider donating to the earthquake relief efforts in Iran. You can use this National Iranian American Council page for some suggestions on ways to help.  |12.29.03|

Swordfish - Vehicle for Halle Berry to show off her new body. I hate it when movie geeks type a couple of seconds and break into a secure system. They always get it on the third try.  |12.16.03|

Down With Love - Nice production with strange plot. They successfully imitated a '60s comedy, and its feels just as dated.  |12.10.03|

Angie & Sean's engagement party today at our place. Not going to let the horrible weather dampen the festivities.  |12.5.03|

The Italian Job - Great heist flick. The only thing I'd change is to set the whole thing in Europe. It just seems less believable in LA: You'd have TV choppers and cops shooting blindly during the chase. I have to see the original (1969) now.  |11.30.03|

Daddy Day Care - Most of the funny parts are in the trailers, but an OK family movie.  |11.29.03|

Roya slept for seven hours last night. Parents would understand.  |11.13.03|

Finding Nemo - I used to pay attention to the graphic design in Pixar movies. Now I don't notice and just enjoy the movie, which by the way, is excellent.  |11.12.03|

Anger Management - That was horrible. Couldn't they at least try after paying for such high-priced tallent?  |11.10.03|

Added pictures to the Roya and new Halloween '03 pages (plus a couple for the big sisters)  |11.6.03|

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - Didn't get why they were mad at the end since they both lied to the other. Funny parts.  |10.19.03|

40th Birthday bash organized by Sandee! That was the best b'day party since... ever?  |10.18.03|

Just to spice things up a bit, the tree in our front yard cracked in two during a wind gust and the loose half fell on our driveway and now blocks half the street. Joy.  |10.16.03|

Bowling for Columbine - Fantastic. Must See. I wish he'd explored the root causes some more (next movie?)  |10.1.03|

Just got electricity back today. A mess in the yard, but the huge oak in the back yard is still vertical.  |9.20.03|

What used to be happening...

Welcome and dorood to my little place on the web.

If you're wondering, Dorood means greetings in Farsi (Iranian) and I hope to sell the domain name for millions of dollars at a future date.  Feel free to roam around the site.  You will find some information on me and other stuff that only my friends and family would be interested in.

While you are here, stop by the message boards to say hi and give me more ideas on what to do with the site or comment on anything else you want.

The basic style of the site (or at least the front page) is this internet thing called blogging.  The word comes from "web-logging" and it entails periodically listing interesting (or not) things one does on a web site.  The HAPPENINGS box to the right is a lame version of the real thing.  You can find back-blogs in the what's up archive and movie, book and music pages.  I was introduced to blogging by Paul when he sent me this article.  What do you think?

SITE NEWS

Now even more XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliant. Only a few pages left (bookmarks, old ffl scores) and they're going to have to stay that way.  |7.6.03|

Back to the left border.  |6.4.03|

Made the site a bit wider and now centered on your browser. Not quite happy with the results yet.  |6.3.03|

The site is now (mostly) compliant with the XHTML 1.0 Transitional standard. Too much work to get it 100% compliant, so this'll have to do.  |5.9.03|

New color scheme and logo for the site... just because I can now. Expect more later.  |1.16.03|

Old site news...
